How to Search Google for an exact phrase?

Google, Bing and Yahoo are search engines that have evolved over time to provide the best search experience to the users. However, due to the inherent drawbacks of word based searches, sometimes it is necessary to search for an exact phrase.

All the three search engines support this functionality using the same semantics.

For example, if you want to search for the exact phrase best wordpress blogs, you simply surround the phrase with quotes! Thats all there is to it.

So in the example I gave you, you search for “best wordpress blogs” (with the quotes) and all the three search engines will search for that exact phrase.

Bing and Yahoo also support the + operator if you want the search engine to search for that word and not change it to something else (like correct spellings). So a search for +colour will search for colour (UK English) and not change the word to color (US English).
