How to add another user to Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a great tool to get detailed information on the traffic statistics of your site. It supports detailed analytics information on any site that has the appropriate code installed on the pages.

Note that it can track only pages that have the code installed.

Sometimes it is necessary to add another user who can view/change/analyze information in your Google Analytics account. This user could be your colleague or your partner who also wants to view the analytics for the same sites.

Adding another user is very simple.  Here are the steps that will allow you to add another user:

  1. Open Google Analytics and sign in
  2. Click on “Admin” at the top of the page
  3. Click on “User Management” You will now see all users of your analytics account in a box
  4. Find the box that says “Find permissions for”
  5. Add the email address of the user in the text area just below the “Find Permissions For” text
  6. Check the box that says “Notify user by email” if you want to notify the user that he has been added
  7. Choose the appropriate permission. In most cases, you will want to keep only one administrator of the account. So you choose “Read and Analyze”. This will give the user permissions only to read and analyze information on your site. The other permissions allow the user to manage the account. For example, the permission “edit” will allow the user to edit the account. The permission “Manage Users” will allow the newly added user to add new users to the account. For safety of your account, it is recommended that you choose only “View and Analyze” permission for the new user.

Thats it! After doing this, the newly added user will see your sites listed on his page when he logs into Google Analytics the next time.
